At Tamarack Stables, we proudly offer Spring and Summer Camps for riders of all levels, from beginners just starting out to experienced riders looking to grow their skills. Each camp day is filled with quality riding time, hands-on horsemanship, and plenty of fun at the barn. For our more dedicated riders, we also offer Advanced Horsemanship Camps, featuring more intensive instruction and off-property experiences designed to challenge and inspire. No matter your rider’s level, there’s a place for them to learn, build confidence, and fall even more in love with horses at Tamarack.

Spring is the perfect time to get back in the saddle at Tamarack Stables, and we’re excited to offer fun-filled horseback riding day camps from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on the following dates:

Riders of all levels are welcome! Each day includes around 3 hours of riding, split into sessions, plus a full schedule of hands-on equestrian activities. Whether your rider is brand new or more experienced, they’ll build skills, confidence, and unforgettable memories with our amazing horses.

Advanced Horsemanship Spring Camps

Ready to take your riding to the next level? Join us for our Advanced Horsemanship Camps on:

5/25 – 5/27

8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

These camps are designed for Beg++ level riders and above who are ready for more intensive riding, skill-building, and real-world experience beyond the home arena.

We’ll be heading off property to incredible venues like Win Green and Frying Pan Farm Park to school cross country, explore Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area trails, and more! These experiences give riders the opportunity to grow in confidence, independence, and horsemanship while working with our amazing horses in new environments.
Includes day pass, hauling, and rider transportation.

Our weekly summer camps run Monday–Friday from June 22 through August 21, with full days of fun from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM. Before and after care is available for an additional fee.

What to Expect

Around 3 hours of riding each day, split into two sessions

A full schedule of hands-on equestrian activities

Instruction and experiences appropriate for all riding levels

Each week ends with a horse show, where campers can show family and friends everything they’ve learned

Advanced Horsemanship Summer Camp

Take your riding and horsemanship to the next level this summer at Tamarack! Our Advanced Horsemanship Camp runs Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with before and after care available for an additional fee. We have four weeks open currently:

7/13-7/17 (Includes a jumper schooling show on the evening of 7/15)
7/20-7/24
7/27-7/31(Includes a jumper schooling show on the evening of 7/29)

Designed for Beg++ riders and above, this immersive camp experience goes beyond the basics. Campers will learn from experienced professionals—including veterinarians, farriers, and judges—and gain deeper insight into horse care, training, and competition. Off-property trips to locations such as Win Green and Pohick Bay (transportation and day passes included) and many more venues to give riders valuable real-world experience.

Multiple sessions each week with Champions Gym help riders build strength, balance, and mobility to support their performance in the saddle.

This is more than camp, it’s an opportunity to grow as a rider, teammate, and horseperson.
